2. Information 800-Insurance Collects and How 800-Insurance Collects It

For the purpose of this Policy:

“Personally Identifiable Information” means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to postal address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address, and also may include certain business information, such as employer name, occupation, job function, job title and the list of insurance companies you will be communicating via the Site.

“Anonymous Information” means information which does not enable identification of an individual user, such as aggregated information about the use of our Site and its services.

If you choose to register with the Site for certain services (such as insurance products and services), we require you to submit information on your behalf or on behalf of any third party that may include Personally Identifiable Information. You represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights and authorizations to submit, use and authorize 800-Insurance to use such third party Personally Identifiable Information. 800-Insurance may also collect through its services electronic data or information that you submitted to an insurer and that you receive from an insurer and/or any third party (“Third Party Data”). 800-Insurance logs information about your transactions performed via the Site. This information includes, but not limited to, the following events:

o Logons and logoffs;
o Transmissions of quotes and policies to insurance carriers;
o Communication errors;
o Business rule validation failures.

The Site only collects Personally Identifiable Information and Third Party Data with your knowledge. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the Personally Identifiable Information, Anonymous Information and Third Party Data you submit via the Site. Inaccurate information will affect the information you receive when using the Site and tools and 800-Insurance’s and the insurers’ ability to contact you as contemplated in this Privacy Policy. 3. How We Use Your Information

We do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information from you unless you voluntarily choose to disclose such information while taking advantage of the services on our Site.

Online Interview. In order to take advantage of the services on our Site you must provide certain Personally Identifiable Information, Anonymous Information and Third Party Data to us during the online client interview process (“Interview”). Personally Identifiable Information is used to facilitate your requests for insurance quotes and insurance products.
Offline Interview. If you take advantage of our services through our call center with one of our licensed insurance agents, your Personally Identifiable Information and Third Party Data will be collected during such offline Interview and incorporated into our electronic system so we can fulfill the products/services selected by you.
Post-Interview Information. Additional Personally Identifiable Information such as method of payment and other payment information will be collected from you during the post Interview process in order to fulfill any orders for services or products made by you. Such information may be collect during offline Interview or via the Site.
Transaction Information. Your Personally Identifiable Information may be collected and used by us to track transactions conducted by you on our Site including which products/services you selected and information we require for payment.
Sweepstakes and Surveys. You might be asked to disclose Personally Identifiable Information if you elect to participate in any sweepstakes or surveys we offer on the Site from time to time.
If you submit Personally Identifiable Information to us through the Site, then we will use your Personally Identifiable Information to improve our services to you, to contact you and to identify and authenticate your access to the Site’s services that you are authorized to access.

5. 800-Insurance Disclosure of Your Information

800-Insurance will not disclose Personally Identifiable Information, or any Third Party Data to anyone outside of 800-Insurance, except as described in this section.

Aggregate Information. We may use Anonymous Information to improve our services and enhance your experience with the Site and its services. 800-Insurance may disclose Anonymous Information about many Users to advertisers, content and service providers, and other affiliated and unaffiliated companies.
Insurance Carriers. An insurance carrier and/or an independent insurance agency appointed by an insurance carrier will use Personally Identifiable Information and Third Party Data in combination with other information you provide about your insurance needs for the purpose of obtaining a quote. Ratings criteria vary between participating providers, with each carrier placing emphasis on particular items of information you provide. Please Note: Third party insurance carriers have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for these policies nor the products and/or services offered by third party providers so please make sure to review the privacy policy of any third party carrier from whom you may purchase a policy.
Financial, Credit and Government Agencies. In order to provide you with our services, and only where permitted by law, we may share Personally Identifiable Information you submitted with: (1) certified credit bureaus to verify information about your credit report; and (2) government agencies to verify your previous claims history and other relevant information. Your Personally Identifiable Information is maintained by credit agencies and disclosed by them to others as permitted by law.
Service Providers. Sometimes third party service providers are retained or utilized by us and may have access to our users’ Personally Identifiable Information for the purpose of processing such information on our behalf. We require that these parties agree to process such information in compliance with our Privacy Policy, and we use reasonable commercial efforts to limit their use of such information and to use other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
Others. 6. In the Event of Merger, Sale, or Bankruptcy

In the event that 800-Insurance is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign to such third party entity the information we have collected from our users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors’ rights generally, we may not be able to control how your Personally Identifiable Information and Third Party Data is treated, transferred, or used.

7. Security

Here at 800-Insurance, the privacy and security of Users data is as important to us as it is to you. We maintain strict physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that are designed to controls and protect your data from unauthorized access. We continually monitor our systems to prevent unauthorized attempts at intrusion. We continually review our policies and practices, monitor our computer networks, and test the strength of our security in order to help us ensure the safety of customer information. We adhere to accepted industry privacy standards and comply with our own privacy practices, and we comply with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) on privacy and security.

In addition, 800-Insurance uses strong, 128-bit encryption and SSL, short for Secure Sockets Layer, a protocol for transmitting private information via the Internet. SSL uses a private key to encrypt data that is transferred over the SSL connection. This protocol is a standard used by many websites when you submit Personally Identifiable Information, such as credit card numbers and other personal data. SSL creates a secure connection between your browser and our server. Addresses of web pages using an SSL connection start with https: instead of http: and most browsers also display an icon of a closed padlock when you visit a page using SSL.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. 10. Who Should Use Our Site?

Our Site is for insurance products and services and is not intended for children. We offer insurance products and services and thus do not market any products or services to children under the age of thirteen or knowingly collect any information from children under the age of thirteen. If we become aware that information is or has been submitted by or collected from a child under the age of thirteen, we will delete this information.

11. Right to Access and Change Personally Identifiable Information

How to Correct or Change Your Quote Information. You can access the quote information you provided and update it at any point during the Interview by navigating to previous pages and making the necessary changes. Upon completing the Interview, but as long as you have not yet purchased a policy, you may review and/or modify your Personally Identifiable Information by selecting the “manage your account” button at any step in the process. Any other information provided by you can be revised by going to the relevant data entry screen through the top progress bar or by using the “BACK” button, proceed forward to get a revised quote reflecting the changes you have made.

Editing Your Personally Identifiable Information. If your Personally Identifiable Information or email address changes or you want to edit or update your information you can do so by using your User ID and password.

Implementing Change Request. We will use reasonable commercial efforts to make the changes you requested but it is not always possible to modify database information. In addition, if your Personally Identifiable Information and email address has been provided to third parties, we will not be able to make changes to it. Further, such information is never completely removed from our database due to technical constraints and the fact that we backup our systems. Therefore, you should not expect that all of your Personally Identifiable Information would be removed from our database in response to your request.

Your California Privacy Rights California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits customers of 800-Insurance who are California residents to request certain information regarding its disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
